We advise and support women and men involved in an unplanned or crisis pregnancy. For many, economic, social and supportive conditions appear to give no other choice than abortion. We attempt to meet the challenge of helping individuals evaluate their options and make the best choice for their situation, and we provide economical, emotional, physical and spiritual guidance--and hope for the future. Our goal is to educate about such topics as life beginning at conception, alternatives to abortion, abstinence and post abortion. Many young women have little understanding about the changes occurring in their bodies. With a free pregnancy test and a compassionate peer advisor, women and their partners/families learn about fetal development and the creation of life. We offer the "Earn While You Learn" parenting curriculum so clients can earn material aid such as maternity and baby clothes, diapers, formula and other baby supplies. We refer clients to other life-affirming agencies that offer additional services such as safe houses, medical care and adoption assistance. HistorySince 1987, the Alpha Center has helped women, their partners and their families--through abstinence education, pregnancy testing and related services, and post-abortion education. We endeavor to provide each client with the information and education needed to make decisions that will positively affect her life and the life of her child. Support and AffiliationsThe Alpha Center is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization devoted to promoting life. We can help persons in need because individuals, area churches, designated corporate gifts and fund-raising events support us. We are affiliated with Heartbeat International and the National Institute of Family and Life Advocates (NIFLA). The Alpha Center offers free comprehensive assistance to individuals and couples at risk in the areas of sexuality and pregnancy.
